Kabir and Kamaal
I came across this blog. The blog inspired me to write this -
I felt so enlightened with your blog about Kabir - his philosophy, background, birth and death, his poetries, following and especially the story about his son Kamaal - first I thought Kamal means lotus, but after re-reading I realized Kamal means - Kamaal, the miracle.
A new coworker joined our team and his name is Kabir, along with this reason and one encounter with an Andhbhakt/ extremely irrational person here in Bay Area, I was drawn to reading more about Sant Kabir and came across your blog, I feel blessed and grateful that you have written about Kabir and in such clear details.
I became a fan of Kabir after reading his poetries because I wanted to educate myself of history of India’s culture. After visiting India and seeing all the historic places in Delhi and Agra, I continued reading your blog in my downtime. I read about Kamaal and felt larger enlightenment - 2 things have touched me. The story about Samudra Bundan me samayi and second about Kamaal starting to live beside’s his father’s hut and not deceiving the King with the offered diamond.
I wanted to say thank you for writing this and publishing it online. How has it changed me ?
I have been in existential crisis since Covid started and even before that when I left India and came to USA for “higher studies” and “higher salary”, but as I became more independent and found myself more and more disconnected from life and world. I read Power of Now, read Buddha and his Dhamma, read about Ambedkar and got background in my cultural upbringing, then dived deep into Ambedkar’s invocation of Kabir and came across your page.
Everyday I have been learning something new and today finally in my jet lag mode, I decided to put this in writing to you for your efforts and knowledge. I feel like living for 20 more years and contributing something to the world, be it tech or in terms of spirituality and after reading about Kamaal, maybe contributing even nothing would be nice.
